Our core values as a Church are:

Love God: Where did this idea come from…that it’s important to love God?

Well, it came from Jesus. Jesus said,

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. This is the first and greatest commandment.”

To love God is the most important and best thing a human being can do…because when you love God and you are committed to see other people’s lives change, you start to see how God see’s people in His eyes.

When we love God, we want to give him our best, in worship when we gather together. To ask Him to transform our hearts, our soul, our mind, and our strength. To become the best person He wants us to be…

As a Church, we aim to pursue this, to create a place where people can gather and love God.

Love people: Where did this idea come from?

Well we saw before when Jesus said, "Love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.

Jesus then goes on to tell us the second greatest commandment:

Love your neighbour as yourself."

Our neighbour can be anyone, even a person from a different country and you can't love God without loving people and God is never able to transform us to the person He wants to be unless we are surrounded by other people, we need to be apart of something bigger than ourselves, we call this community.

We were not created to live in isolation, but for relationship, to come alongside one another, encourage one another, care and love for one another, no matter who they are. I am aware some take a little more to love than others; I think that’s called Grace.

That is the beauty, that is the wonder of community. Where people know and love each other enough to speak truth to them which shapes their lives.

Serve Others: Where did the example of this come from?

Jesus! The most famous verse in the entire Bible…John 3:16

God so loved the world, He gave His best…His Son…that whoever believes in Him, whoever trusts Him, whoever will follow Him, whoever will become devoted to Him will not perish, will not be destroyed by all the darkness of sin and guilt and death, but will have this new kind of life, this Jesus kind of life that will never stop.

It just wells up inside you.

Then Jesus came to earth, and all He did with His life was just to serve.

Part of what He said was,

“whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many”.

That's it!

  • We want to love God
  • We want to Love People
  • We want our lives to be characterised by Jesus, in serving others.

And this has been the way it has always worked, and it is the best.

If you don’t know Jesus, then you haven’t reached your fullness yet and I challenge you to find out more…
